The Donald L. Heiter Community Center is a true non-profit grassroots community effort with a Board of Directors. The purpose of the Center is to operate a multi-purpose community center in the Lewisburg area that serves all age groups, is locally controlled, frugally managed, and representative of a wide variety of community interests. Our mission is to build a strong Lewisburg area community. We are a place for all people, regardless of race, religion, socio-economic status or cultural diversity; our emphasis is on children and teens. We provide recreational, educational, and family activities. We bring together citizens to identify community-wide needs and address those social needs through the programs we offer. We offer skills needed to become active community participants. The Donald Heiter Community Center addresses the issue of diversity and how to help all segments of the community work together. This will help to prevent the anger and violence some communities have experienced and are experiencing.
